      Thank you for your comment.
      perhaps,
I don't think the paint will penetrate if you use newspaper.
Let's try using different papers and cloths!

Is this done on glazed porcelain. Can we do it on bisque stoneware. Can we use cobalt oxide.

    • @moriguchinaohiro-mainchann756
      @moriguchinaohiro-mainchann756 3 года назад

      Cobalt oxide can be used.
It is not suitable for use on glazed porcelain.
What type of bisque stoneware is used?
The unglazed base used in this video is fired at 800°C.
The main firing is at 1250° Celsius.

Maybe you can't do it well with butter paper.
Butter paper doesn't penetrate moisture, does it?
      I've never tried it.
A paper filter for coffee might be more likely to work.

I've never seen it outside of Japan, but perhaps you are right.
You will need to check if the material is water wicking or not.

@@studiomori-moriguchinaohir3211Beautiful Japan! ( My pottery teacher was originally from Japan and one day hopefully I will visit your beautiful country. Regarding that fabric - I think the closest thing we have here in Canada is something called paper towels. But they are thin and do not have that sort of strength that the fabric you used has. I will have to try some experiments with different materials... Thank you for a great tutorial! this looks like a fun technique.

      Thanks for the reply!
So your teacher is from Japan! What a coincidence!
I hope you will come to Japan someday.
In fact, I've even tried it on paper towels. But it didn't work out too well. The cobalt particles did not penetrate the fabric ...
      I did an online search.
      How about this one?
There are some images that are okay to squeeze.
